A few weeks ago was national walk to school day. We actually walked to AND from school that day, so as to get the whole experience. (It is less than a mile, so not too long, I promise!)
I am really amazed at where we have moved. Not only do my boys LOVE school for the first time, but every day just seems magical. (Ask me how magical I feel when there is snow and slush and no leaves on the trees!) For right now, it is just perfect, though!
I just can’t seem to get enough of the new fall colors!
We are walking with determination! And not thrilled that Mom has the camera! So we are ignoring her!
Multitasking? Why not! Pushing a stroller and sneaking pics of the big boys.
Still trying to ignore me and my camera. Moms can be so embarrassing!
One of the neatest things about our neighborhood is the network of shortcuts that allow kids to travel to school safely, avoiding the main roads. People pretty much just allow their neighbors all through their yards!
It takes a little but to maneuver the stroller down the rocks! (Much easier than the bike trailer, though!)
We left a bit too early and our friendly crossing guards were not even on duty yet!
I always appreciate a little help!
And he’s off! I love that he runs into his school every day.
So I turned around to spend the rest of the day cleaning #thisoldhouse and shuttling the middle mister to afternoon kindergarten and before I know it….
It is time to walk back to collect the kiddos…
With just a stroller this time, I can pay more attention to the beginning of fall.
We have to hand-collect my kindergartner, so we have to wait a bit. Shoes on the wrong feet! Don’t care!
And we’re off back to the house!
A brief pitstop at our favorite creek on the way to school.
Yeah, it’s pretty awesome.
But we are soon on our way, through the shortcut and home again, home again, jiggity jig!
