Bye Bye Nursery

The nursery, the room I worked on during my whole first pregnancy from the day I found out I was pregnant! The room my son has slept in for the majority of his life watching the little bee mobile and the frogs and dragonflies on his crib bumper. The chair I sat in during every 2 am feeding, and the chair we read a bedtime story in every night. I knew this room would soon be changing when we found out we were expecting baby #2 in the spring. The kids will be sharing a room and we figured we would transition Owen into a big boy bed this winter to give him time before the baby took over the crib. Up until just a couple weeks ago he had no interest in climbing out of his crib so I thought he never would. I was wrong. One night we were downstairs and heard a thump and then the door open! It was time for a big boy bed sooner than I thought! The big chair would have to be moved out to fit the new bed and the crib in the tiny room they will be sharing.

I wanted to document this room before all the big boy things take over. We will most likely be changing the paint and the “theme” of the room and the only way I can cope with that all happening already is to take pictures of it. At least when everything is changed I will have these images to help spark my memory of all the little details.

carlee_selfieCarlee lives in south eastern Massachusetts and is a wife and a mom to a 2 year old little boy. They are expecting number 2 in the spring! She started out as a studio portrait photographer but after having her son she realized she never cared about bringing him to her studio to have the perfect background, props and outfit. She wanted pictures of him that really show who he is in his natural surroundings. She wants him to someday look back and SEE his childhood, the home he grew up in and the things he loved. And she wants this for herself too! Life is going by way to quickly for Carlee and she’s so afraid to forget any moment, big or small. After all someday today will be the good old days! So photography helps her preserve every moment 🙂 She is currently transitioning from a studio portrait photographer to a storytelling photographer so she can also capture these real memories for her clients. Besides photography Carlee is also a graphic designer and designs custom wedding stationery and invitations for all sorts of events. She also loves sweets and lazy nights watching her favorite TV shows snuggled up in her PJs.
